August 23, 2023. Captain’s Norwegian Fjord cruise log: TODAY IS THE DAY! It’s raining this morning, but at no surprise as it rains over 230/365 days per year in Norway. It’s much like the rains of Florida, USA though- quick to start out of nowhere, ending just the same. I’m not worried about a little rain, I bought one of those Scandinavia Explorer shell coats and allegedly it’s semi-waterproof. Whatever, I’m not a snowman so I’m good.
At 205 km in length and 1303 m at its deepest point, the Sognefjord is Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, with fjord villages and mountain peaks lining up one after another. The boat trip to/from is spectacular, and the further you go into the fjord, the higher the mountainsides edging it. A breathtaking, gasping, sight.Epic shit.I feel like I’m on the Titanic. Except for the bits about the ship sinking. And everyone dying. Except that bitch Rose, who couldn’t share a door 🙄. Side note: I’d totally share a door in this arctic freezing water if we go down…if the girl is cute enough, obviously.People on the deck keep eyeing me. I know it’s not the matching jacket/joggers combo because I look ADORABLE. Weird, idk. *continues humming the Titanic theme song*Stunning. Nature at its finest. 💫
MADE IT TO FLÅM! World Heritage Site 🌏
Approaching Flåm 😍The only thing to do there, for real, is shopping. So, I did that ☺️I am beyond serious…A Norwegian sunset over the water. Pictures don’t do the beauty of it justice.Just, wow. What a sight. 🙏🏼
